Linda Tallman is a lifelong resident of Fayetteville and Lincoln County, Tennessee. She attended Fayetteville City Schools for grades 1-9 and then Lincoln County Central High School for grades 10-12, graduating in 1972. Linda earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Middle Tennessee State University in 1977 and later obtained a Master's in Education from Tennessee State University in 1999. With 34 years of experience in education, she has taught students across grades 1 through 12 in both regular and special education settings.
Most of Linda's teaching career was spent in 7th-9th grade physical education at Central Junior High School. When Lincoln County restructured to K-8 elementary buildings, she transitioned to working with at-risk students at Lincoln County High School and the Ninth Grade Academy. In December 2008, Linda moved into the role of Supervisor of Personnel and Attendance with the Lincoln County Department of Education, where she continues to engage with students, parents, faculty, staff, and the community.
Outside of work, Linda cherishes spending time with her family, which includes her son, daughter, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, and especially her three grandchildren.
Job Description:
The Supervisor of Personnel collaborates with other supervisors, principals, assistant principals, and athletic directors to recruit certified and retain highly effective employees. The supervisor of attendance and discipline collaborates with principals, assistant principals, attendance clerks, Family Resource Center, school resource officers, and Juvenile Court to ensure student attendance and discipline laws are enforced at the school level. The athletic supervisor works with principals, athletic directors and coaches to ensure continued growth and sportsmanship in all sports in Lincoln County Schools.
