Margaret Campbell serves as the Supervisor of Special Education for the Lincoln County Department of Education, currently in her fifteenth year in this role. She graduated from Lincoln County High School in 2000 and went on to earn her Associate of Arts degree from Motlow Community College in 2002. Margaret then obtained her Bachelor's degree from Middle Tennessee State University in 2004 with a focus on severe and profound special education.

Margaret began her career in education in 2005 as a special education teacher at Flintville Elementary, initially teaching in a comprehensive development classroom for Kindergarten through 8th grade students. In 2007, she transitioned to a special education intervention and inclusion teaching role, focusing on kindergarten through 3rd grade students. She furthered her education by earning a Master of Arts in Administration and Supervision from Tennessee State University in 2008 and an Educational Specialist in Administration and Supervision from Middle Tennessee State University in 2013. Margaret assumed her current position as special education supervisor in 2010.

Margaret married Jake Campbell in August 2004 and lived in Italy while he was stationed in the Air Force. Upon returning to the United States, they settled back in their hometown of Fayetteville. Margaret considers becoming the mother of Noah Campbell in February 2010 to be her greatest accomplishment.

Job Description

The special education coordinator interacts with other school administrators, faculty, counselors, psychologists, therapists, and other professionals who provide special education services to develop academic plans for students at the schools. The coordinator also performs a variety of administrative tasks related to policy implementation, compliance with legal regulations, and maintaining education standards.
