ARIENS FAMLIY FOUNDATION OFFERING SCHOLARSHIPS TO AREA STUDENTS PURSUING POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION
Awards to high school seniors will help develop local talent and bring new skills to our communities
March 11, 2024 – Brillion, Wis. – The Ariens Family Foundation is now accepting scholarship applications from area high school seniors who plan to continue their education in pursuit of either a two-year technical or four-year college degree, an apprenticeship program, or a vocational certificate. Several one-time scholarships of $2,000 will be awarded to successful applicants who meet the following eligibility requirements:
Are enrolled in their final year of high school.
Are enrolling full-time in an undergraduate study at a college, university, two-year college, vocational-technical school, or certification or apprenticeship program for the entire academic year.
Attend a high school in Calumet, Manitowoc, or Brown County.
Attend a high school outside of the above counties but are a dependent of a current AriensCo employee who has been employed with the company for at least one year by the April 8 application deadline.
Applicants who have demonstrated high academic performance, leadership, and participation in high school and community activities will be given greatest consideration for one of these awards. The goals of the program are to help offset the cost of their continued education and bring new skills to the area.
"The scholarships awarded by the Ariens Family Foundation are a powerful investment back into our community,” said Brillion High School Principal Elissa Hoffman. “They help make higher education possible for our students, and they also increase the likelihood that our students will return to the area after graduation, bringing their new skills and knowledge with them and ensuring continued growth for the area.”
The Ariens Family Foundation will also grant one Steve (Mando) and Christine Ariens Engineering Scholarship to a student attending an accredited engineering program. This $20,000 endowment was established to honor the memory of Mando Ariens’ contributions toward the development of AriensCo’s earliest products.
“The success of AriensCo and its rippling impact on the region are largely thanks to the ingenuity of a few bright ancestors that came before us,” said Ariens Family Foundation Chairman Mark Olsen. “The Engineering Scholarship is designed to nourish the inventive spirit of a young man or woman that we hope will someday use their gifts in a similar manner and contribute their talents to the advancement of our communities.”
In addition to scholarships awarded through an application process, the Brillion High School valedictorian will automatically receive a $5,000 gift to be used toward their post-secondary education.
Eligible students can apply through the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region’s scholarship application portal.
