Dr. Bridgette Jones is set to assume the role of leader at Unity School starting in July, succeeding Emily Pierce, who will be retiring at the end of June.
Dr. Jones embarked on her educational journey as a School Psychologist with Lincoln County Schools in 2000. Her dedication and expertise led her to serve as Supervisor of Special Education for Lincoln County for seven years. She then transitioned to Fayetteville City Schools, where she held the position of Supervisor of Special Education, Federal Programs, CTE, and Pre-K, before stepping into the role of principal at Ralph Askins School for five years. Dr. Jones has also made significant contributions at the state level, having worked for the Tennessee Department of Education as a Compliance Consultant with the South Central CORE Office, where she supported 16 school districts in special education and federal programs. Currently, Dr. Jones serves as the Special Education Coordinator for Lincoln County Schools.
Dr. Jones earned Bachelor's Degrees in Psychology and Human Services Management from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 1998. She furthered her education at UTC, obtaining her Master’s Degree in School Psychology in 2000. She continued her academic pursuits, earning an Ed.S. in 2002 and subsequently her Ed.D. in Educational Administration and Supervision from Tennessee State University in 2006.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Bridgette finds joy in spending time with her family. Her husband, Eric, serves as the Director of Schools with the Fayetteville City School System. Together, they cherish moments with their three children: Walt, an 8th grader at Unity School, Jillian, a 5th grader at Ralph Askins Elementary School, and Eve, a 2nd grader at Ralph Askins School.
