Flintville Fun Fact

From the August 29, 1892 edition of the Fayetteville Observer:  "The Lincoln County Teacher's Institute met here on last Friday with an unusually large attendance.

Superintendent Bryant called the house to order and prayer was offered by E. J. Cambron.  Prof. Keller was appointed temporary chairman in the absence of the regular chairman.  Rev. E. Kennedy delivered the address of welcome; response by Prof. Hopkins, of Terrell College.  Then the subject, "Why do we teach," was taken up and thoroughly discussed.  The institute was opened Saturday by Prof. Hopkins.  The program for the day was then taken up and thoroughly discussed.  The institute adjourned on Saturday evening sine die.
