From the July 23, 1896 edition of the Fayetteville Observer: "Our school opened last Monday with 60 scholars."
From the August 6, 1896 edition of the Fayetteville Observer: "The school has increased so much as to require an assistant. Miss Lillie Cashion, of Fayetteville, is the assistant teacher.
Prof. Blair has charge of the Hester Creek School."
